It cannot settle for long on anything. As the Bhagavad Gita says in the 2nd Chapter: The intellects of those who lack fixity of spiritual purpose are inconstant, their interests endlessly ramified... In the Bible it says, "love the Lord thy God," not "think" about the Lord. Although, of course, even thinking about the divine can be a step on the journey to true inner peace.
