Stefanie L. McClellan, MSW, RYT, CMT, Usui Holy Fire Reiki Master/Teacher, is a former mental health clinician and an experienced Yoga Teacher, multi-modality Meditation Teacher, and energy worker. Stefanie double majored in Political Science and Women’s Studies at Wayne State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2003, and completed her Master of Social Work degree at the University of Michigan’s Graduate School of Social Work, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2007. She completed her Yoga Teacher Training through YogaWorks ® – Santa Monica, serving as the “In training intern”/ITI to the lead instructor) in early 2017 as well as her Reiki Mastership later in 2017. She has plans to begin doctoral studies in Theology & Comparative Religion Winter Term 2022, and is currently expanding the depth of her freelance practice by beginning a non-denominational Certified Chaplain program in February 2021.
Since early adolescence, Stefanie has had a calling to serve others, inspired most by her deeply beloved maternal grandmother, who she recalls talking to her about racial and gender inequality as early as age four, as well the importance of serving humankind. “Love one another” was her grandmother’s signature phrase.
Thus, during the 15 month pause between completing her undergraduate studies and beginning graduate school, Stefanie dedicated her time to Turning Point-Macomb as a sexual assault first response advocate, and was inspired and encourages by the training staff to pursue a Master of Social Work degree.
As a special education school social worker (2007-2014), Stefanie fought tirelessly to advocate for differently abled students from K-12, and also worked on a year-long grant as an Accessibility/Universal Design Specialist at Disability Network, Oakland & Macomb from 2014-2015.
Stefanie’s passion is to use her combined knowledge as a trained clinician and experienced holistic wellness practitioner/teacher to offer a variety of auxiliary tools and self-healing practices to her students and clients by introducing them to the power of pranayama (controlled breath work), a wide variety of beginner- friendly meditation techniques, as well as introducing them to self-realization concepts and practices in alignment with her Kriya Yoga path. Stefanie made her discipleship vows through Ananda Michigan during the summer of 2019 and received Kriya Yoga initiation in October 2019.
